NIGHTCLUBS

The eclectic and vibrant nightlife in Mauritius is reflected in the variety of nightclubs now in existence on the island. Tourists mostly frequent the clubs in the tourist hubs of Grand Bay on the northern coast and Flic-en-Flac on the western coast. There are a range of music styles to be found in these venues, from English and French pop music, to house, techno, drum and bass and jazz.

In Grand Bay, some of the most popular clubs include: OMG, a club frequented by DJs; Banana Beach Club; Buddah Bar; Safari Bar; Alkatraz; and Les Enfants Terribles where the bar area is in the open air. In Flic-en-Flac, there are a number of popular nightclubs including: Shotz, an open-air nightclub on the Coastal Road; Summerbeach, that feature live music; Kenzi Bar, a pub that features live music; and Lakaz Cascavelle, that features live music and DJs and is located at the Cascavelle shopping mall. Down the road from Flic-en-Flac in Tamarin is another popular venue, Big Willy’s a restaurant/bar/nightclub where you can enjoy live music as well as DJs. In the central region of the island, there are also pubs like Flying Dodo at the Bagatelle mall, and The Irish in Trianon, that often have live music on Friday or Saturday nights with popular happy hour offers on drinks. In Ebene, bars like Kas Poz and clubs like Altitude also host DJs and live music. If Bollywood music is more your style, there are venues in urban centres like Curepipe, Rose Hill and Beau Bassin that are very popular.
